DENDERA |

The Dendera Temple is dedicated to the goddess Hator,
and the work commenced under the Ptolemaeans. Thus it is
1000 years younger than the temples of ”The New Kingdom”,
and one of the most well preserved. The most impressive are the 24 Hator
columns of the entrance hall.
On the roof is the double chapel of Osiris with the famous
zodiac in the ceiling.
From the roof there is a very beautiful view of the
landscape. |

ABYDOS |

This is one of the most fascinating areas in Egypt. In
1991 the oldest king’s tomb of Egypt, from circa 3150 BC was
found here, with the oldest examples of hieroglyphs.
Here too is The Seti Temple with some of the most beautiful
reliefs from ”The New Kingdom” along with ”The Register of
the Kings” with 76 names of kings from Narmer to Ramses II.,
The Seven Chapels, The Hall of Osiris with 3 chapels and
Osirion ( the tomb of Osiris), which symbolizes the
primordeal sea. |
